After finding my lump exactly two months ago I have finally been given my official diagnosis, I have Nodular Sclerosis Hodgkin's Disease, Stage IIA, Bulky. Nodular Sclerosis is the most common kind of Hodgkin's and is also the most treatable. So YAY for a good diagnosis! I will start with having chemo once a week, every other week, for 2 cycles (around 2 months). I will then have a CT and PETscan to see how the chemo is affecting me. If it is working then I will continue on the same plan for 4 more cycles and if the scan shows it is not working then we will step it up to a more aggressive form of chemo. Fingers crossed the less aggressive plan wipes it out and I will get to keep the every other week schedule!! If all goes well and this plan works I should be done in 6 months. Of course this is not for certain yet but it is nice to have some sort of end date in mind. Hopefully by the time my birthday comes in August I will be all done and I can turn 29 cancer free!!!
Thanks again for everyone's comments, emails, texts, calls, and facebook messages. It really has made this whole experience so much easier knowing I have such an amazing support group.
